The E-Larm Application is one of the core pieces of the E-Notification System.
Its functions is to provide alerts and trigger reports based upon user inputted
options.
The above screenshots shows the website editing an E-Larm that is monitoring an
analog PI tag. As you can see, the E-Larms have many options and are very
flexible.
Features:
E-Larms now have the ability to include a trend
with your email notification. This has proven to be extremely useful as people
are not only able to see what the current value is, but what happened before
the event occurred. These trends are configurable, and one can select time
ranges varing from 1 hour to 7 days.
Also new in this release of E-notification is directional
alarming. This will make it so that an E-Larm will only be sent when an
alarm goes in a certain direction, for example from low to high. This further
enables users to fine tune what information they want to receive, so that they
are only notified with what they want.
Another exciting new feature in this release is PI
Tag smoothing. This enables users to monitor noisy signals without
getting unwanted notifications due to noise. This has been a much desired
feature and it is now available.
E-Larms provides the ability to trigger other
components of the system. This has proven to be a very valuable tool, as
reports can be created and sent as events occur.
PI PE Equations or PI Performance
equations have been an integral part of the PI System for years. PE Equations
offer many functions and have proven useful to for alarming purposes.
E-Notification fully implements OSIsoft's™ PI PE Equations. They provide users
with the ability to do conditional alarming, tag averaging, and many more. For
