The data for reports, including shipment activity,
bunker loading, inventory activity, etc., is stored on the SQL Server and is
accessible through a web browsing interface and a MS Access interface.
AccuTrack allows the user to view detailed reports of coal and inventory
activity. These reports are fully customizable using the MS Access interface in
the client software package. The reports can also be custom made at the request
of the customer.

One of the more interesting features of AccuTrack is
the ability to automatically generate detailed burned (or bunkered) reports
with very little human input. ECG has conducted studies at several large and
small generating plants in the Mid-West to determine the accuracy of bunker
logs kept by operators. It was found that the larger plants with more
complicated fuel handling techniques were plagued with errors in their logs.
The more fuel types, reclaim feeders, generating units, the more problems with
the logs. Even the simple plants were not free of human error over a long
period of time.

For most plants, a digital control system is used to
handle coal while loading into the bunkers. With the operators selecting a fuel
type for each running feeder, the fuel handling is monitored by AccuTrack and
records are automatically generated in a database specifying start time, end
time, tons, fuel type mixing, source, destination, fuel specifications etc. In
the case of lost data (i.e. communication trouble with the control system
input), AccuTrack will queue the snapshot of time in question and the
administrator will be required to manually address the issue. ECG has found
that using AccuTrack as the primary source for reporting bunker loading
activity saves time and is more accurate.
In short, AccuTrack reporting provides the following functionality.
-
Eliminates data entry error.
-
Reduces time for personnel entering, compiling and reporting commodity
activity.
-
Provides more process details to the end-user.
-
Utilizes Manual logs as backups, while AccuTrack automatically compiles and
stores process data on the corporate LAN.
